2014 SPS IPC Drives Draws Global Audience
With over 1600 exhibitors presenting their goods and services to over 60,000 visitors attending the SPS IPC Drives Conference, the event is sure to be one of the year’s largest automation fairs. The 25th annual conference runs from November 25th through the 27th and will take place in Nuremberg, Germany.
The largest exhibitor in the show is likely to be Siemens, the largest manufacturing company in Europe. Like Siemens, most exhibitors are likely to be companies headquartered in Germany, but, with over 40 countries represented, the event is surely considered a global one.
Among U.S.-based companies at the conference will be first-time attendee Austin, TX-based WIN-911, an alarm notification software company. Their executives and staff will be using the conference to connect and communicate with thousands of potential new customers.Their recent partnership agreement with France’s Micromedia International has opened up an even wider global market – they already dominate the North American market – and they plan to leverage that exposure at the event.
This year, the conference features a new hall dedicated to drive technology, control technology and sensor technology. In total, there will be 14 exhibition halls featuring various automation subjects including industrial software, mechanical infrastructure, industrial communication, industrial ethernet and fieldbus systems.
The conference will also feature a congress with renowned experts from the fields of IT, production and automation technology. The conference will include approximately 50 lectures, including two keynote speeches on “BIg Data” and “Unconventional Drives with Smart Materials.” An award ceremony honoring young engineers is also planned.
